frequently asked questions
Question:
I have rusted gutters and some spot rusting on my roof, what should I use?
Answer:
The two products of choice are Noxyde or Pegarust, if you are intending to carry out the application this time of year (winter) I would recommend the Pegarust. Pegarust is a solvent borne version of the Noxyde-please click on downloads for the Pegarust brochure. If you are going to wait until summer or warmer months I would use Noxyde. Both products contain rust inhibitors and are designed for application to sound, tight rust. Preparation is either by wire brush or high pressure water wash or a combination of both. I would recommend using Mathys Fleece (matting) over all the gutter joins. 200mm wide with Noxyde or the 160mm wide with Pegarust. Also it is recommended that you reinforce any badly rusted areas and over pin holes etc with the fleece. The coatings are applied in thick layers as a membrane, not thin like a paint.

Question:
Can Noxyde be applied to concrete?
Answer:
Yes, to clean dry concrete. Noxyde may also be diluted with 20% water and used as a primer on smooth concrete, glass etc..
